I just feel alone

Old literature

how easy would it be for a "student" to get hold of expired literature thru jws trying to get you into the truth, under normal circumstances?.

today i got hold of "the kingdom interlinear translation of the greek scriptures" just by asking,.

i emailed a scanned copy via email requesting a real copy...they refused to open the scanned copy, but within days i got the real deal heh.. .

If they think you are a genuinely interested potential convert you might have them dump thousands of dollars worth of old litteratrash into your library.

If they think you are an APOSTATE they will steal thousands of dollars worth of old litteratrash from your personal library and chuck it into recycling bins so that the words from under Jehovah's bushel can be turned into egg cartons.

that's right, and it's great!

i don't know exactly why because he hasn't turned apostate and still seems to believe jw things.

i don't feel comfortable in asking him why he doesn't go to meetings anymore for some reason, or find out what he believes and if the things i've told him bout ttatt influenced his decision.

I'm a cyclist, not a trickcyclist, so I have been struggling to come up with advice for you, Louise, but something you said on another thread tickled one of my few remaining brain cells.

Think about using a local church as a stepping stone. They have contacts, business people, etc.. They might love to have a JW survivor in their midst.

You are a rather charming young lady, so smile sweetly and charm your way into their lives.

When I realised I had been raised in a cult, I tried to cherry pick the bits I liked for a while. I started by reading the Gospels in the order they were written, using Moffat's translation, until I got to the story about Jesus getting pissed off with a fig tree that didn't have fruit out of season. This story didn't make sense to me.

I then realised that everything I thought I knew about gods had come from the cult .... everything .... nothing I thought I knew could be trusted .... I had to start from scratch, not letting my cult upbringing influence me. Why should I pick on Christianity? Because I was born into a pretend Christian family? Was Genesis just as much a fable as The Dreaming, or any other culture's creation myth?

I eventually clicked that Ian Anderson wasn't far off the mark on the cover of Aqualung a couple of decades earlier ...

In the beginning Man created God;
and in the image of Man
created he him.

2 And Man gave unto God a multitude of
names,that he might be Lord of all
the earth when it was suited to Man

3 And on the seven millionth
day Man rested and did lean
heavily on his God and saw that

i can understand why they think the end is near.. in the old days, one was proud to be a jw (well maybe.

not for you young ones) but for us that came in the 60,s.

and 70,s, we felt no shame in our game.

Born in, I knew in the 60s that the Ancient Worthies hadn't shown up in 1925, so there was evidence that my parents were nutters following nutters. It would be ok as long as their JeHoover did actually Hoover up all the people who thought we were the crazies, but that never happened. They have spent the rest of their lives pretending that what was printed in the litteratrash they peddled didn't say what it clearly said, regardless of how poor your grasp of English grammar was.

Now, they are having to confront far more people who are educated in their tactics, doctrines and failures.

How do the GB do it?

the majority of your standard jws have no clue as to the topics discussed here - the scandals, lies, coverups etc by the watchtower society.

some will know of certain things but dismiss them.

obviously there's the lurkers and faders who know things, but who aren't really jws.. but the gb, and brothers high up the food chain who know everything.

The higher they are up the food chain, the more lives they have affected and the consequenses of admitting they have made fools of themselves gets greater and greater. The easy way out is just to turn the brain off and ignor anything that makes them look dishonest and just another sucker for a failed doomsday cult.
